This is a happy place filled with love and cars... and sometimes cats. If you believe you have arrived here in error, that's just too bad for you, otherwise, I'm glad to see you're also interested in cars... and sometimes cats........ aaaanyway, sit down, relax, and have fun..

Since this thread has lain (heh) dormant for quite a while, I'm declaring it the M^3 chat thread. Also, chat is french for cat...I think...so this isn't all that off topic. Confused

John...how do you like the feel of your shifter? I ask because most people like UUC a lot, and say that it changes the feel a great deal (though not in a bad way). If you like the stock feel and just want a shorter throw it looks like you can install the M Coupe shift lever with very slight modification for a shorter throw with stock feel (and about 1/7 the cost of a UUC).

Little Yoshi: What was that whooshing noise? Im scared.
Gi san: Shhhh, do not fear young one. That was one of the Admins, they watch over and protect us all. With his help you will become a strong thread like so many others.

So it might be a tensioner.

I'm gonna try this tomorrow:

If it's a tensioner it will certainly not be cool. They're a bastard to get at and about 150-170$ Sad

OUCH. How much trouble are you going to have replacing it if it is the tensioner?

John's belt thing wasn't all that bad once he figured out what he needed to do, but still I see your point. I think it was also made worse by the fact that it was so cold/dark outside it was tough to see/feel what you were doing.

Well, if it goes, it might just be on a random road somewhere. Confused

Not that I typically drive that far anyway.

It would suck if it went out on one of those backroads at night, cause you'd have to either walk a long way and wake people up or just walk a long way. I mean I suppose that you could use your cell phone to call us to pick you up but what fun would that be? =P. Not to mention that there's not exactly much place for fixing/changing things on most of the roads around here that are safely off the road.

Then when you get it towed you get your rear bumper destroyed, and of course after that no one calls you back Evil or Very Mad Evil or Very Mad Evil or Very Mad Evil or Very Mad Evil or Very Mad

Yeah, that would most certainly be the worst part.
