array of horrible tentacles/claws, here are my teeth/horrible strips of rotting flesh.

So I'm going to try to take today to come up with a "cannon" storyline which I'm going to run for you guys. I know, I know, it sucks to play a game where you're locked into a storyline because you feel your actions don't matter, but I've decided that if I'm going to put the effort into this then I damn well better allow one of you to blow it to shit with a single decision ^_^. So that's how it's going to roll. I want to figure out exactly what the main NPC's will be doing in the huge grand scheme of things then figure out how what you do will affect that, either a little or alot. This will make winter court a lot more fun, as this time hopefully ALL of your actions will be affecting the flow of politics in Rokugan, causing either ripples or waves. Say you discover a plot involving Maho Tsuki's at a winter court, you beat them up, try to figure out who their master is, and the plot fails. Maybe that triggers whomever was pulling the strings to alter their plans. Maybe you revealed yourselves and will face his wrath, maybe you won't. You don't discover it? It succeeds and you go on unaware but the game world will change about you. I want this to help edge out the "You have to discover this or you will die horribly" mentality that's so pervasive in alot of RPG's today. Of course there will still be many MANY life threatening situations, but I want the NPC's both that you're playing with and against to have at least a framework of goals that they wish to accomplish and a tentative reactive timeline in which they cause events to happen to get what they want done and have you guys affect that, while still being able to cope with some if you fail. Of course it'll be tough for you to affect ALL of it, the fact being that it's tough to be everywhere in the empire at once, but it's your charachter (and clan's) choice of where to send you, whether it's where the action is or not. This will also make glory rank more important, as I want to have at least 20 leading personalities for each clan which can be used by the Diamyo's for their ends and glory rank and to some extent honor rank, WILL affect those choices as well as your standing within the clan and the rest of the eyes of Rokugan. Jeremy this is a special exception with you as the Ise Zumi are run in a different fashion but the same rules will apply hopefully. Now this dosn't mean that I'm going to be writing episodes three weeks ahead of where we are right now, just that I'll have an outline to work from when we finally get there. An outline which is probably going to end up being more like a periodical. ::hangs head::

What's that supposed to mean? =P What's wrong with letting you guys know the game's going to get a little deeper and you'll have more impact on it? =P

Also if you see above I mention that I'm going to basically allow you to wreck the plans of whoever if you feel like it. You may wreck plans you don't even KNOW about but it'll make it more fun if they're there to wreck and the planners have to try rocking out a little harder.

I think he's refusing to run until Ciel starts to suck. Guess I'm going to have to take one for the team.

And by "I" I mean your characters.

You can't take it back now. Go stab the emperor in the scrotum so he can't carry on the imperial line.

I'll disable his son with the secret Akodo Homosexual Agenda™.
