Hey guys I'm looking for a new car as the Suzuki is about to die and I figured I'd come to the experts. You guys have any reccomendations? I'm looking for something that's got good gas mileage and is affordable. Comfort would also be a plus as at the moment I feel like I'd like to tear out the seats in the Suzuki and take them with me to every subsequent car they fit so well. Honestly I'd probably just buy a newer Suzuki if they were still selling them here.

As far as the seats go, are you sure it's not just the angle/seating position? I feel like I remember the Suzuki being sort of similar to sitting in a chair, as opposed to a regular car seat. I dunno.

Anyway, what's your budget like?

What cars don't you like the seats in? Maybe we can eliminate something.

I'm looking for 6-10 grand. It might be the angle and position, but there are some seats like any suzuki wagon I've ever been in that I hate, especially for long periods.

How did the seats in the S4 treat you when we drove up to NH? I've only ridden in your car a couple of times, and not for any significant amount of time, so I'm looking for some thing I can make a better comparison to.

I assume that you want to find something with awd?

Living here it's a must unfortunately =/ I realize that AWD and fuel economy are somewhat at odds with each other.

I did not mind the S4 seats, but there was less cushioning there than in the Suzuki if I remember correctly...it's been awhile!

It's not that much of hit with modern systems that keep the diffs unlock most of the time, but yes a little. I still put it in the nice to have category, but I totally understand wanting it here.

That's the same issue I'm having, but at least that's something.

Get yourself a Volvo, son. You'll find a bunch of S60 and S40 AWD models in your price range. Just a quick search on Autotrader yeilded like 11 within 100 miles. I remember my seats being quite comfortable, though I'm not 100% on the new ones because I've never been in one. I think it would check all the boxes for you, plus a box you didn't even know you wanted checked - "Make Jeremy very jealous."

S40

S60

Failing that, I would give Bob a call. See what he can get that meets your criteria. He'd treat you right.

Sticking with a car I think you're looking at:
Bmw 328xi
Infinity G35x or M35x
Mercedes 4matic
Audi, quattro anything
VW 4 motion
Volvo, as Jeremy mentioned.
Saab
Subaru
Ford Fusion
Toyota Matrix, kind of Suzuki like, and there is an awd model.
