I'm not proud asking like this, but I'm running out of options. Would anyone be willing and/or able to loan me money to get my car fixed. We can set up the payment schedule and how much per month you'd want paid back. I can do paypal or any other type of payment option you'd like. Any help would be appreciated.

Did you call around for any other non-Laurel quotes? I know theirs was pretty high.

I did. And any place around here is going to be in the area of $5k. because as you would think, you can't just replace bearings/rod for one cylinder because as soon as it goes, it puts extra strain on the other bearings and no one will just do one cylinder. they would require a full overhaul atleast in terms of bearing. But once you're at that point, labor is the part that kills you.

That blows. Spinning a rod bearring sucks, but at least you didn't punch holes in your block.. But always prepare for needing a new crank and other unseen issues... How much run time has it had since the bearring went out?
