In an attempt to abort a botched moonshot by landing in a desert on Kerbin, I have just discovered a better way to increase initial orbit size after leaving atmosphere. The cost of this discovery? My most experienced astronaut is now permanently stranded in planetary orbit.

I feel like I'm just terrible at this game, but I can't stop trying.

I've been doing well so far, but I've only done four career missions.

You did it! Congrats. I am pretty far off myself.

Ah, thanks. I can provide some hints on approach/landing technique if anyone wants some, though I won't say I ever reached a point where it was easy. The rest of that science is from a Minmus pass, which is doable with the same amount of tech.

Got to Minmus and back! I would have made it on my first attempt, but I didn't come out of time warp automatically on my return to Kerbin so Jebediah and Ronrod slammed into the surface and died. I was pretty upset. I restarted the mission because that was bullshit and did it again - even cleaner the second time. I think I am almost ready for the higher gravity of the Mun.

Wait...you did a Minmus landing before a Mun landing? Interesting. Also, well done! I hope you picked up the seismograph before you went...I think I came home with 540ish science from one of those trips.

I've been attempting a probe landing on Eve lately, but a glitch in the game is making my probe core tear itself off the rest of the craft and fly into space at 50,000,000+m/s every time my parachute fully deploys. Once I get that figured out (or it just stops), I'm going to start playing with rovers to send.

Space-X did a launch today to test reusable launch components, how often do you guys say "Nominal" during Kerbal?

Rarely are things nominal.

Not nearly often enough. Case in point:

What a silly deign for a rover Mark. Why would you put the wheels on top like that? How did it get upside down there anyway? It looks very flat/slow rolling.
