I've been shuffling through a few possible rule changes lately, some from you guys and some from myself, and I think this is what I'm going to implement:


1. Plane stats will be eliminated. Instead of stats, I'm just going to cap your bonus based on what the plane can do.

2. Appearance will be back, and used any time you're in a face-to-face interaction. Any interaction via radio or written corespondence, or under the cover of darkness, will use Charisma.

3. Leadership will be refunded towards daring, with any leftover XP rounding up to the next daring point OR you can funnel directly (point for point) into daring for a flat fee of 300xp or ins.

4. Action will be reduced to a maximum of three per turn. Any action you would normally have over those three will become a reroll of any of the three attacks.

First I would like to suggest that while we're refactoring we also should have a chance to refund discipline in skills toward discipline in stats.

1. I have no thoughts on planes as I've never flown one. I just am curious if maneuvers/daring are included in that cap.

2. I kind of dislike this because it implies that appearance completely overcomes charisma when sight is involved. Also it is hard to justify appearance ever actually increasing. Charisma can be practiced but Appearance is hard to alter. Also disguises can make someone more or less appear any way they choose.

3. I don't think 300 is steep enough for a direct transfer. Example based on frost, I'm sure other examples will be similar or worse. Leadership 2, Daring 6. Cost to raise Daring 2 points 1500 xp, cost of "refund" 300 xp. So if I spend 300 xp I get 1200 in value. I'm all for getting higher daring but I'd bet there isn't a person in the party who wouldn't have 8 or more daring once that went down. How often do you want us spending daring? How many do we get back from a full night's rest?

4. Will we be able to know if the current roll was a success before rerolling? How does discipline factor in? I can see this really backfiring. Disc 5 + 1 reroll if disc fails = a pretty damn good chance that we're going to see average rolls spike. What happens when we have more than 3 rerolls? Maybe we should take a look at initiative and actions together and have some dialogue about the benefits of sacrificing actions to have better/an initiative bonus. Right now initiative is a straight multi dice roll, I'd like to see that change.

Excellent Idea, I agree in every way as long as my charisma and manipulation skills are translated back directly into Apperance at the ratio we discussed. I think I'd end up with around 10 but that's ok, I'll RP an hour of grooming in the mornings to explain it.

Ok First I thought this be April fools joke. But here are thoughts on this.

Plane stats, What happens to my manuevers that double plane stat? What are we looking for at an average plane on stat cap? 5 - 10 ? I think most of us are around high single digit numbers for our highest stat with the exception of john, his are all higher.

Appearance does not bother me much, I kind of auto botch all social rolls anyway.

I agree with jw, I'll be taking the direct funnel for 300. Can I put it on Layaway?

This one effects me as I have 4 at the moment. I know that this has been an issue for a while. Perhaps it is a combined bonus on your roll, I roll 8k4 for actions. Cap it at 3 actions and I get to add an additional bonus to my actions I have rather than a reroll. I'm just generally faster, this does not mean I'll hit.

Am I the only one who doesn't seem to think John is that beastly over powered? I don't remember him ever sliding down a stair rail with a gun and sword into a crowd of heavily armed ruffians and coming out unscathed with a new suit...

wow, entering this thread waaaaaayyyyy too late.

- plane stats, gonna have to see it in action before i make a decision

- appearance, think it should be a characteristic rather than a stat, i'm sure people get better looking as they mature, or not, and appearance can be altered, for better or for worse. So in my opinion having it as a stat seems useless.

- leadership, ::pushes tounge back in mouth:: doing anything is better than nothing. Ohh btw jacob, JW has more daring than i do so you might want to roll with him first. I just happen to get bonuses from mine.
