That's how Sweden rolls? I was wondering the same thing. I think this is a judge case tho I haven't been able to find any evidence either way. I think the judge needs a lot of time to really consider the merits of the case and write a precedent which further cases should follow. In particular he needs to be careful not to completely disarm the copyright holder from enforcing copyright across the internet. Pirates might not all be bad guys but you have to remember that someone did work hard to create music and movies and they do deserve reward for it. Or shot if the "art" is Heroes ><

Yeah, the parties might be submitting final arguments that contain a lot of citations of precedent.

Bad Ass.

You are standing in a store looking for a new DVD to buy. Rather than buying it, you photograph the barcode with your phone and press a couple of buttons. By the time you make it home, the movie is waiting for you in your torrent client. You can with Torrent Droid.

That is pretty cool. I've thought about that phone, but I want to wait and see what they do with the restriction currently on the dev version.

Eh if I'm in the store already I'd probably just buy/rent the DVD.

Don't get me wrong the technology is cool, I just wouldn't have much use for it.

I kind of agree with the torrent part, but think about pulling up amazon automatically to compare a price. It's a really cool idea.

It may also bring BB some new competition if they begin to pricematch with amazon since their only major competitor CC went under.

But they already have that program, it's called Shopsavvy.

The verdict came down as guilty, here's the best explanation I've read thus far.

http://torrentfreak.com/pirate-bay-judge-indeed-hand-picked-090528/

So the judge who has been accused of being biased in the first place has turned out to also be hand picked instead of randomly selected like a typical Swedish criminal case. This casts serious doubts on his motives in not revealing his possible biases from being involved in numerous pro-copyright lobbies. I foresee a retrial.
