Now that the electoral college is a little more in the public eye because of this election, I hope they expect the hammer to come down on them and just decide to go out with a bang electing McCain Very Happy

Has the electoral college not actually voted yet? I can't remember how that works.

Yeah, McCain could still win, which would be something.

Montage!^

In other news, it seems that our fuckhead governor will remain our fuckhead governor rather than Obama's fuckhead energy secretary or fuckhead transportation secretary.

If he were to leave, the governorship would go to his lieutenant, who is currently battling cancer. Since she would be unlikely to be able to assume the roll, it would default to the highest-ranking republican in the state senate.

Page from Obama's website describing (among other things) his intent to repeal the Tiarht Amendment, permanently reenact the assault weapons ban, and make guns "childproof." It has since been deleted from the site.

Alot of this stuff is rediculous

Quote:
End Racial Profiling: Barack Obama cosponsored federal legislation to ban racial profiling and require federal, state and local law enforcement agencies to take steps to eliminate the practice. He introduced and passed a law in the Illinois State Senate requiring the Illinois Department of Transportation to record the race, age, and gender of all drivers stopped for traffic violations so that bias could be detected and addressed.

That is idiotic, I'm not saying the shit doesn't happen but statistics on race across all arrests is going to show PATTERNS, not profiling.

Also I couldn't find the section on the assault rifle ban.

I realize that this was his "Urban Developement" page but I really hope they don't neglect/strip funding from rural areas in support of urban ones.

It's right above the thing you posted:

Quote:
Address Gun Violence in Cities: As president, Barack Obama would repeal the Tiahrt Amendment, which restricts the ability of local law enforcement to access important gun trace information, and give police officers across the nation the tools they need to solve gun crimes and fight the illegal arms trade. Obama and Biden also favor commonsense measures that respect the Second Amendment rights of gun owners, while keeping guns away from children and from criminals who shouldn't have them. They support closing the gun show loophole and making guns in this country childproof. They also support making the expired federal Assault Weapons Ban permanent, as such weapons belong on foreign battlefields and not on our streets.

None of that is even supprising. The next 4-8 years is not going to be a good trip. More taxes, more government, and more trampling on the constitution.

I'm waiting to see how this changes when they update it for the new congress. Right now it's pretty good.

Secret Service codenames for Obama and past presidents, pretty interesting, probably not worth reading too deep into them tho.

Those are fun, but I can't help but suspect that they wouldn't publish the actual codenames.
