Kyle has inspired me. I now have total eclipse fever. Might be the only chance I ever have to see one in person. It's on August 21st. It will be going through Tennessee and South Carolina. The 21st is a Monday so vacation may need to be taken by some, but if we found something interesting to do in that part of the world, we could make a long weekend out of it. Anyone interested?

I am intrigued, but that is right around the of my time as a contractor...so I don't know that I will be able to take off.

Great Smoky Mountains National Park, or at least the western half of it, will be in the path of totality.

Sierra Nevada Taprrom/Brewery Tours. They do tours Mondays and Thursdays (the eclipse is on a Monday) between 10-5. They have a complimentary tour that lasts 90 mins and a Beer Geek tour that lasts 3 hours and costs $45. Their taproom is open 11-9. Its about an hour away from the park and at least close to the path of totality.

Thoughts so far? Other ideas? More to come from me soon. I think we will want to pick a couple of possible spots to watch from in case weather becomes a factor.
