Any idea on how combat will work?

Certain skills and weapons will now provide TN bonuses as you become more proficient with them, such as the Tessen and Defense. However, wielding a Tessen to get extra TN to be Hit is *not* a no-brainer. A variety of different combat styles will be effective in L5R 3E, and a katana + defensive war fan is simply one of them.

I found this very interesting as it pertains to Mark's Tonfa/Katana question.

This year's release schedule calls for two storyline books and a rulebook, so that's pretty much what you're asking for. Unfortunately, we can't continue that all the time, because that would require storyline information to be released in arc books, which only come out about every two years."

They were supposed to release today but unfortunately they botched something with the overseas distribution >_< so they're pusing it back to May 30th, which hurts because the US books are ready to go but the other's arent. ARRRGH! Also if you're going off to read it, toss me a copy when you're finished, also if you did read it your charachter's dead, or at least irrevocably insane. Wait a minute...=P.

Your current charachter's not insane yet! Don't push it, I don't want to have you die AGAIN of horrible insanity. =P

what do you mean GM fudging? Alan had a really bad flaw from the beginning. I had nothing to do with that. John and the rest of you killed Alan by himself, no help from me, and the phoenix thing was definately planned, I just hadn't known it would be needed so soon. Remember Becka rolled it for Shiba, not me. Think before you speak JW =P

yeah but secret weapon one and two were rolled for at the beginning, again not me "fudging" anything. If you knew what one of them was you would realize how totally house it is all by itself, without needing me to alter anything.

I don't know if there was any strict "fudging" but Alan certainly didn't know that the disadvantage meant losing all control and attacking the party. You have to admit you certainly strung him along toward that.

Should've grabbed the blood sword when I had the chance...

Umm actually he did know that his flaw caused him to lose control and attack the party in those exact words ^_^. Right at charachter creation too!
